Epoch teaming up with academics

An article recently released by The Canadian Press released outlines the details of the Hinton, AB project that Epoch Energy is using to show that oil and gas isn't the only valuable resource to come from Alberta wells. Epoch will be working with researchers from the University of Alberta to bring the project forward.

The project will re-open an abandoned oil and gas well just outside of the town of Hinton, circulating hot water from the well through the town to heat the municipal buildings. It will be a showcase project to show that district energy heating, and potentially power production, is a viable option in Alberta.
